Movie Night...

I'd like to share my Snapfish photos with you. Once you have checked out my photos you can order prints and upload your own photos to share.

This is what movie night at our house looks like. We try to get her cuddled up on the couch with us, works sometimes, sometimes it doesn't. This weekend has been really great. I got laundry somewhat caught up and the house somewhat cleaned up. Thank goodness.
Today I got to go to a Scentsy/Premier Design Party. I got to order a new design necklace from their Spring 2010 catalog. I'm so excited. And Scentsy has a warmer that you can put a design on. They have stencils that you can put on it....I can't begin to tell you how exciting that is to me. I get to create something (well the appearence anyways) that looks ad smells good! I sound like a sales person or something.
On another note; I went to Wal-Mart today to get some alligator clips and ribbon and also some felt for a blanket for Claire. I was all excited and had the creative wheels flowing. I walked around that store probably 4 times looking for the arts and crafts section. I finally found an associate and asked where the crafts section was...."We don't have one.". What?! How can they not have a crafts section? That's crazy. Guess that I'll just have to go to Hobbly Lobby sometime this week. Until next time, God bless.

House Cleaning Day....

It's the weekend. Thank goodness! I've decided instead of either staying at home and sitting on my bootie, or going out and running around I'm going to take some time and clean house. Pretty ambitious, I know.
I got to sleep until 7:45. Which these days is sleeping in. Got Claire ready with her sippy cup and Chris sent off to Enid to work on his blazer. I had the best of intentions, I really did. As soon as I put Claire down for a nap I was putting laundry away....then I started getting sleepy, very sleepy. So down for a nap I went as well.
On the up side as soon as Claire got up I put her in bed with me and we took another 20 minute nap (she is such a cuddle but...I Love it!). Then after wards we had lunch (left over pizza for me and a hot dog and sweet peas for Claire). Now it's back to house cleaning.
Trying to get the house clean totally, and not mess it up again by the weekend. Wish me luck. Until next time, God bless.

100 Things About Me....

I'm a copy cat, I admit it. But I saw this idea on http://nicoleelkington.blogspot.com/ And I couldn't help but snatch it up. So here it goes:

1.) I wear a watch at all times. In fact if you see me out without one you can bet my wrist feels naked and I feel like I'm late/rushed.

2.) I am growing my hair out and it's finally getting long. Which means that I'm itching to cut it.

3.) I recently saw the movie "Twilight" and now I'm hooked. I want to read and own all of the books and see all of the movies!

4.) I love to cook as long as I don't feel rushed doing it.

5.) I love to use my crock-pot. A busy mom's best friend a lot of times.

6.) I love to bake.

7.) I'm always afraid that anytime that I make something for people to eat (no matter who it is) that they aren't going to like it. Even if I've tasted it and I KNOW that it tastes good.

8.) I'm secretly jealous (okay not so secret anymore) of all those Susie home-maker types who have spotless houses and get to stay home with the kiddos all day.

9.) I wish that I was a more artistic/creative/crafty type person.

10.) I LOVE tattoos and piercings.

11.) I have 2 tattoos and 2 piercings in each ear and want more. MORE! MORE! MORE!

12.) I want my voice to be heard, and if that means voting in political elections, or for my favorite person/couple on "So You Think You Can Dance" than so be it.

13.) People who don't vote in political type elections and then complain about the leaders of this country and how it's being run make me angry.

14.) I secretly like house work (as long as I'm not too tired and have time to do it). It's a big stress reliever for me.

15.) I LOVE coffee. Especially on the weekdays. My morning doesn't feel right without it.

16.) I don't like bugs. Lady bugs are all right and "cute" bugs like that. But otherwise, stay away from me bug.

17.) I want to plant a garden that looks good. I even have the flower bed to do it in my front yard, but I have what I call a "black thumb". If I never have to do anything to it, it'll survive. If I have to water it just so, or make sure that it has a certain amount of sunlight only, the plant's a goner.

18.) I want to grow my own fruits and vegetables. Again, black thumb.

19.) I love calenders.

20.) I love schedules.

21.) I bust out with song lyrics at random times.

22.) I also bust out a few movie quotes at random times.

23.) I LOVE shoes. If I had the money I would so be the next Carrie Bradshaw.

24.) I like to dance.

25.) I am an older sister (one little sister 3 years younger than I am).

26.) Even thought my sister can drive my husband up the wall I want her to move closer so I can see her and my nephews more often.

27.) I love to read. Let me bury my nose in a good book on a lazy day and I'm happy.

28.) Even if a book is horrible I HAVE TO finish it. What if it got good towards the end?

29.) I randomly bust out dance moves.

30.) I love sunglasses. It's hard for me to walk past a sunglasses stand/display without trying at least 2 pairs on.

31.) I love art.

32.) I could spend all day in a museum.

33.) I'm into archery.

34.) I have a ton of lotions at home. I buy them randomly even though I know that I don't need them.

35.) I keep "back up" bath products. Extra shampoo, conditioners, toothpaste, soap, etc.

36.) I feel better when my house is stalked with groceries.

37.) I like ink pens, especially if they're from different places of business.

38.) Yes, I am guilty of taking off with other peoples ink pens.

39.) I love my sleep.

40.) I've never, ever, dyed my hair.

41.) I am not a morning person, don't talk to me unless I talk to you, and it's probably better after I've had my coffee.

42.) Even though I'm not a morning person I prefer to get up and get things over with so that I can have the rest of my day to do things.

43.) I've never lived alone, but think that it would be all right if I had to.

44.) I married my high school sweet heart.

45.) My husband and I knew each other in preschool and then met again in high school. We didn't remember each other, but my mom had a photo of us together.

46.) Even though my husband and I have been together since 2001 he's only seen my mom a handful of times....it's a long story.

47.) I try to have a positive outlook on things.

48.) I have horrible vision without my contacts or glasses. Seriously, -4 and -3.

49.) My hair won't hold a perm...really. I've tried twice, each time my hair was straight again within two hours.

50.) When I was a kid up until about age 10 my hair was blond.

51.) I like scary movies as long as I don't have to watch them alone or be home alone afterwards. And not too much blood.

52.) I don't like torture movies. Just don't like them.

53.) I love babies.

54.) I have the cutest/sweetest daughter. (I'm a little biased, but I don't care) Born 09/04/08

55.) I was married in Vegas 2006.

56.) I love Hobby Lobby and could probably spend a lot of money in there if given the chance.

57.) I always keep extra paper products on hand, toilet paper, paper towels, etc.

58.) I carry around a Tide pen, I also have one at home, at work, and in my car.

59.) I am married to my best friend.

60.) I love hanging out with my friends and their kids.

61.) There are some friends that I broke ties with for some reason or another and wish that I hadn't.

62.) I love jewelry stores.

63.) I wish that I could go in a jewelry store and try on EVERYTHING, but probably not a good idea.

64.) I listen to NPR.

65.) I work with the public, but am not always in the mood to listen to the BS.

66.) I don't like white vehicles, don't know why, just don't.

67.) I like peace signs.

68.) I like to go into dollar stores and try to find cool stuff, sometimes I am pleasantly surprised by my finds.

69.) If I'm shopping and I see something that I want but don't NEED I will pick it up and put it down. Yes, no, yes, no. And either try to talk myself out of wanting it, or try to reason with myself why I NEED it.

70.) I have allergies.

71.) I hate to take medicine unless I just absolutely have to.

72.) I'm the kind of person that will try to tough something out and taking something for it is like admitting defeat.

73.) I can be a smart ass.

74.) I love the water.

75.) I get sea sick if out on a boat for too long, not bad (to where I puke), but not fun either.

76.) I like home make over shows and wish that I had the money to do some of the things on there.

77.) I am opinionated.

78.) When you first meet me you probably think that I'm quiet.

79.) I'm not quiet.

80.) When in high school and junior high I had more friends that were guys than I did friends that were girls.

81.) I wish that I could sew.

82.) I am a chronic list maker.

83.) I can't really spell all that well.

84.) Spell Check is my friend. :)

85.) I used to work at a call center and would answer the phone and speak in a fake thick Southern accent to the customer.

86.) When food is past the expiration date on the label I throw it away.

87.) It pisses my husband off when I throw away food that's past the expiration date because, "It's still good."

88.) I tend to cuss when I get angry and frustrated. Both, not one or the other, both.

89.) I like to try to give thoughtful gifts, either something that someone has wanted for a long time, or store bought with a personal touch.

Poop!

Okay, I know that I've already blogged today, but....Claire pooped in the toilet! Not in the bath tub as she usually tries to do when she takes a bath, and not in her diaper. The toilet!
It looks like next time that I buy diapers that they're going to have to be pull-ups! I can't wait until we are 100% potty trained.
Okay I just realized.....when you're excited about poop, you are definitely a mom. Until next time, God bless.

I smell.....BACON!

I'd like to share my Snapfish photos with you. Once you have checked out my photos you can order prints and upload your own photos to share.

Today was a pretty decent day. I had to get up and hour earlier than usual in order to go to a meeting at work. I woke Claire up, as soon as I opened up the door to her bedroom the smell waive came rolling over me. My poor baby had some sort of stomach bug and had a runny diaper. So I got her cleaned up, and dropped her off in her pajamas and off I went. Missing my cuddle bug the whole way.
Got to work and had my meeting. blah, blah, blah. Went through the work day without a hitch. Got off early to go to a doctors appointment (yearly woman's thing...UGH!). Came home and had a snack....BACON! I LOVE me some bacon, extra crispy. I really need to find a healthier snack. Needless to say, my diet hasn't "officially" started yet.
I have my first weight watchers meeting Saturday. I had earned my lifetime membership about four years ago, got pregnant, and, well...don't have it anymore. On the upside, I got on the scale today at the doctors office and it showed that I had lost 4 pounds! Go me!
I've decided that I want to become healthy not only for me, but for my family. I want to be able to play with Claire for years and years to come. (And if I don't take care of myself that won't be possible.) She was in such a good mood today when I got home. All of us in bed playing. She would grab Chris's chin and then my chin and make us kiss....so sweet. It just got me thinking about our family and the future. Anyways, I'm rambling...so, until next time, God bless.

Clean up at register 1...

Last night was AWESOME! I fixed chicken fried steak, cleaned the house a little bit, even got some laundry done. After I had Claire in bed and the husband off to work I put a roast with potato, carrots, and onion in the crock pot for tonight's dinner. After all of that I had a glass of wine and took myself a bubble bath. It was a good night.
Today it's a little bit harder to find the blessings. There were so many this morning. I got up, had breakfast and coffee, and Chris got Claire up and around. Got to work and everything was normal....until lunch break.
I had to stop at the store to get some things that I missed yesterday. I was making good time, I had everything (at least I think that I got everything) that I needed. I went to put this huge plastic jar of spaghetti sauce on the counter and it slipped out of my hands, (the lid hit the edge of the counter on the way down,) and busted all over my shoe and the bottom of my pant leg. (Anyone know what will take spaghetti sauce out of clothes???? Anyone???)
I stood there, spaghetti sauce all over my shoe, trying my best not to cry. The woman in front of me was so sweet, she picked up the jar for me and tried to scrape a little bit of it off of my shoe. "What a day huh?" I could not agree more.
The blessing; at least the spaghetti sauce is on the bottom of my pant leg. I have a feeling that I'm going to be tired of the smell by the end of the day though. Hopefully the rest of the day goes better. Until next time, God bless.

Be Thankful:

It's so easy to get down in this world. It's easier to see the negative than it is to look for the positive. It's Monday, I HATE Monday's. So today, instead of whining about it I'm going to find positive things to think about.

1.) I have a job. A lot of people in this economy can not say the same. Not only do I have a job, but I have a job where I don't have to be out in the cold, and I get to work with people. (Referring to the pleasant people with that statement.)

2.) I have a family that loves me. I thank God everyday for blessing me with the husband that I have and our beautiful daughter. Also my sister and parents. I am truly blessed to have my family in my life.

3.) I have awesome friends. As proven again Friday. I got to go out with two really good friends and had an awesome time. They are people who love me for who I am.

4.) I have a house that truly feels like home. I can't wait to go home when 5 rolls around, I feel comfortable there, and loved. Even if I don't have the cleanest house on the block it's ours. It's filled with the sounds and smells and memories of love.

5.) I have the love of my savior. Jesus died for us on the cross. With that knowledge I know that I can get through anything. There is never a time where he is not present. His love is everywhere, and he has a plan for all of us.

There it is, some of the things that I am blessed with. The post would never end if I listed all of them. So until next time, God bless.

Baby Got Back!

Okay, so I got to work today and decided; "Today should be the first official day of me not drinking any soda.". I've been wanting to cut back for awhile now. I figure none during the week, and then 1 a day on Fridays and Saturdays.
I walked (backwards) for 10 minutes at break (I was told that walking backwards works different muscles....I have to agree, I felt the burn). And had a salad and a baked potato for lunch. I figure that that's a good start to my health kick. Hopefully that "kick" will become more of a lifestyle.
This train of thought actually started last night. Right after I had 5 spoonfuls of dirt cake. (Not a big chocolate fan,..I know, call me crazy.) I went to get dressed for bed and caught a glimpse of myself in the mirror. I did not like what I saw. I'm not too bad off, but I have been better. Then I got to thinking about my clothes. My work shirts are starting to get tight, along with my pants.
So, the quest has begun. I'm trying to think of ways to have a healthier, lighter me. I'm going to try to join Weight watchers (I have to check out meetings and what not first). I also need to go to bed earlier so that I can drag my bigger (hopefully not for long though) butt out of bed and exercise. A coworker and I were also going to start (once it warms up) walking in the park on lunch break.
With all these changes that I'm trying to make hopefully I'll have a good enough support team that I can stick with it. My coworker who sits behind me has decided that she wants to lose weight as well (although cigarettes are part of her plan...yeck!). The woman who sits to my left is getting married on 10/10/10 (Yeah Tammi!) so she's decided that she is going to lose weight as well. I think that between the 3 of us we should be able to keep each other on track. So....here goes nothing.
Until next time, God bless.

What I do now....Will go straight to my hips.

I'd like to share my Snapfish photos with you. Once you have checked out my photos you can order prints and upload your own photos to share.

Okay, so you know that Valentines Day project that I was working on? Well here it is...Ta Da!.....*pausing for dramatic effect*. Fake plant in pot with prints of Claire's hands and feet with dirt cake in it,
Well apparently my husband hasn't been in the mood for chocolate. So I, selflessly have offered to eat some of it for him. I know, that's just the kind of person that I am. lol
So, now i have to start thinking of something that I can get/make for my husbands birthday. It's not until April, but I want to make sure I'm prepared. I was thinking about getting a sitter and taking him out. Then I got to thinking that maybe it should be a family deal. Still trying to decide.
So today when it was slow the last hour at work I pretty much got caught up on my reading in the bible. I'm in the book of Numbers right now. I'm trying to make sure that I understand all of it, but some things are just so hard to imagine/comprehend. I just need to forge on and pray for understanding. I am so blessed to be able to live in a country where it's all right to read the bible.
Until next time, God bless.

Look!....I did my own hair!....

I'd like to share my Snapfish photos with you. Once you have checked out my photos you can order prints and upload your own photos to share.

Well, sort of. I couldn't resist. I had to post this picture. We had pizza tonight at the husbands request. And after bath time I got Claire ready for bed. I put her down so that she could play. The first thing that she did was grab her headband and put it on. So it's official. Claire now does her hair better than her daddy does her hair.
The earlier half of my day was pretty well too. I got to work in town, so I had a 10 minute drive instead of a forty minute commute. I pretty much got caught up on the reading in the bible that I had to do. I even got to watch the rest of Twilight. I know, I know, I told myself that I wasn't going to give in and watch it. Well I did. I caught it on the other day and got sucked in. Now I want to watch the other movies and read the books.
On another subject I think that I figured out an easier way to make hair bows for Claire. I just have to get some gator clips. I found a good website to get some supplies http://www.hair-hardware.com but I'm going to go to Hobby Lobby and see if they might have what I need too.
Until next time, God bless.

My first blogger award.....

You like me, you really like me. Okay, now that My Sally Field moment is over I have to brag about my first blogger award. Ta Da!

Things That I Want To Accomplishing This Year

Today while I was talking to a coworker we were discussing things that we wanted to accomplish. Well, that got the wheels in my head turning. What do I want to accomplish this year? What do I want to change in my life? I know, I missed the whole New Year's Resolution thing, but here it goes:

1. I want to read my bible, cover to cover. (Which I'm behind on, but WILL get caught up.)

2. I want to learn to make hair bows for my little girl. (I've always wanted to know how honestly, and my first few attempts have been horrible, lol.)

3. I want to lose weight. (I know that everyone and their dog says that, but I've been to my goal weight through weight watchers before, and I am bound and determined to do it again.)

4. I want to start going to church on a regular bases. (I used to, and I was a much happier person. I'm not going to let myself get too busy to strengthen my relationship with the Lord, or my church family.)

5. I want to keep a cleaner home. (My house used to be spotless all of the time. Now, not so much. I've slacked, and put things off until they drive me absolutely crazy. Part of it is I don't ask for help, I just put it all on myself. That needs to change.)

Until next time, God bless.

Happy Valentine's Day!

Happy Valentine's Day! i hope everyone has had an awesome day. Today was perfect for me. I got to sleep late and be lazy. I didn't have to cook or anything. Like I said....awesome day!
Yesterday was spent in Enid, I bought my outfit for the Gretchen Wilson concert coming up at Tumbleweed's on Friday March 5th. (So EXCITED!) I bought some Tommy Lama boots, and a plaid shirt and some hoop earrings that reminded me of what I've seen Gretchen Wilson wear. In other wards; I'm going to "Cowgirl up".
I am so proud of the reactions that I got with the dirt cake and fake flowers in the pots with Claire Bear's hand/feet prints. No one had ever heard of dirt cake before so I had to explain to everybody that you can eat them. My father-in-law thought that I was crazy until I took a bite. Let me tell you I got a strange look.
Until next time God bless.

I heard about this on the internet (www.twloha.com). It really touched me. My husband's 14 year old cousin committed suicide on 12/25/09. There weren't any warning signs that the family caught and we miss him very much. We have all become survivors of suicide.
Please remember that each and every one of us is loved. Call someone...ANYONE if you need to talk. Someone WILL understand, if nothing else here's the number to the suicide hotline: 1-800-SUICIDE (1-800-784-2433) 1-800-273-TALK (1-800-273-8255) and TTY: 1-800-799-4TTY (1-800-799-4889).
Until next time, God bless.

Valentine's day project.

Today I got to worked in town, which sure beats the 40 minute commute. It was a pretty good day, my husband had to work late so it was just Claire and I for dinner. Let me tell you that kid can eat, she had what was left of the tuna casserole AND spaghetti.
After we got done eating I spread out towels on the kitchen floor. Arts and crafts time! I got red and whit paint, mixed it together for pink and got the planting pots out to put Claire's hand prints on them. I thought that she freaked out last time because it was just red paint, and maybe she associated that with blood from busting her lip open. Apparently I was wrong.
As soon as I stripped her down to her diaper and set her on the towels she started crying and trying to get away. I let her paint my leg to show her that it wasn't going to hurt. She wasn't buying it. So i got her hand print on some of the pots and am now going to make dirt cake to fill those pots. Wish me luck.
Until next time, God bless.

Government...

So today my husband and I joined our A.B.A.T.E. (a Brotherhood Aiming Toward Education) in our state capital. We had a small breakfast, went and talked to our state representative and senator. We had state bill 1324 which we are calling "Gunner's bill" and "Malfunctioning Light bill" to talk about.
Walking around the capital up and down, down and up, up and down the stairs, over and over and over again was about to make me crazy. It was such a big building and there was so much going on. A.B.A.T.E., the association of funeral directors, the beef industry, as well as the cattleman's and ranchers industry people were there today as well.
We had a million pictures taken. I got so tired of being there so Chris and I left early. We went out to Toby Keith's bar and grill, and then to the dive shop and got our taxes done. All in all it was a great day.
When we got home after I took a nap I picked up Claire from day care. She was in such a good mood. We played and laughed and played some more. I'm (kind of) trying to potty train her....She actually went in her potty! It was awesome! Wow...I sound like a mom right now....
Until later, may God bless us all.

About last night....

Okay. So Chris and I went to see Pat Green last night with a few friends. We had so much fun! It was a night full of dancing, drinks, music, new and old friends. Turns out when we were close to the stage there were a few people from our home town that recognized us. We started talking and it turns out one of the guys and I went to the same junior high school and knew a lot of the same people. Talk about a small world.
Pat Green puts on a frigign awesome show by the way. If you're a country fan and he's ever near I recommend seeing him. He seems very down to earth and friendly. At one point he brought out a bunch of shots and handed them out to the audience and took one too.
Afterwards we went to IHOP to become part of the "lush rush". All in all we had a good time. Can't wait to do it again next month at the Gretchen Wilson concert.
So until I blog again. God bless you and yours.

Another Day in My life.

I was bad last night. I promised myself that I would read the bible form cover to cover by the end of the year. In my bible there is a guide that breaks it up day by day so that you end in 1 year.
Well, after trying (unsuccessfully) to get Claire to help with her Daddy's Valentines day project (I needed her hand print), giving her a bath and then putting her to bed. I tried to make hair bows for her (again, not successfully) I was just too stinking tired to read as well.
I need to be more disciplined I guess. I just want to do so much. Oh! And I've decided that I need more hours in the day.
On another note I get a night off tonight....well....sort of. I'm going to a Pat Green concert with my husband and some friends. I'm so excited, I get to get dressed up and may even have an adult drink or two (*gasp*). I'll give details of how the night goes when I get a chance. Until then God bless and take care.
