Manic Monday...

Just another Manic Monday for this momma. I've been working over time and long hours. Sucks, sucks, sucks. To top it all of I have to go in for an early meeting tomorrow.
Well, on another topic I got to try out my HYLA vacuum today. Chris got it from the pawn shop and it has been sitting in our garage for about 2 years. The only instruction manual that I could find is in German. Sure, there were lots of informational videos, but nothing showing me how to use it. I decided to wing it, and I'm glad that I did. I vacuum with a Kirby Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. After using this vacuum I looked in the water and it looked like I hadn't vacuumed in YEARS. Yucky!
So, I better start/continue my cleaning so that i can go to bed and get up early. I am SO ready for a vacation. Until next time, God bless.

Thankful Thursday

In this truly blessed life I lead here is what I'm thankful for:

1.) I'm thankful for dress-up time. I had so much fun with Claire tonight playing dress up, she got so excited she could hardly sit still for the picture.

2.) My crock-pot. I know, weird thing to be thankful for, but I am. It makes it so that I get more time with my family after having to work late.

3.) My family. They should have been listed as number on honestly, but the free time and crock pot lead into it today. I got to spend more time with my family BECAUSE I had made a crock-pot dinner and this is what we did with that time.

4.) AC. It got to 102 today. So I am VERY thankful for that.

5.) I'm so thankful that I don't have to work this weekend. I've worked the last 2 Saturdays and can not wait for a full weekend off.

There's my list for now. So, until next time, God bless.

Thankful Thursday

Although I have a cold and feel like I've been hit by a Mac truck, I am still blessed.

1.) Claire is starting to talk more. It's so fun to listen to her little voice say new things.

2.) I'm getting overtime. True, I can't stand working open to close and then Saturdays, but it sure makes for a better paycheck.

3.) The weekend is almost here.

4.) I got to spend some quality time with my husband today.

5.) I get to take a nice shower and then go off to bed.

Ramble

Okay, I'm lame. I haven't blogged in so long. I can say that we've had fun, and then not so much fun as well. Right now the mommy and daddy in the house are sick. We both have colds. It's a miracle that Claire hasn't gotten sick.
On some other news, my sister is pregnant with baby number 3! I'm so excited! I'm going to be an aunt again. I just wish her family lived closer so that our kids can grow up together.
My dad says that he's almost done building his house. The dry wall is fixing to go up. I'm hoping that it's done by Christmas so that we can go visit.
Anyways, that's all for now. Until next time, God bless.

Monday Madness...

http://becauseican.co.za/wp-content/uploads/2009/02/monday_1.gif It's been crazy. Sorry that I haven't blogged in so long. Life has been happening. Nothing too much. I got sunburned at the lake, although not as bad as it could have been.
So, I have officially joined the lamest blog category. If you need any lessons, tips, or pointers be sure to let me know. Free of charge, just have to find the time to do it. Between potty training, work, house work, and other things it's kind of crazy.
On the potty training front, it's going pretty well. We've tried the sticker chart as a reward, but she seems to be more interested in M&M's now. It seems to be working. Tonight she told me that she had to go potty twice, and she actually did. I'm one proud momma.
Work is really busy right now. I'm just ready for everything to go back to normal. Working open to close sucks. I feel like I'm missing out on so much with my family. Still blessed though. So until next time, God bless.

Toughen Up Tuesday!

All right. Coming home from vacation feels good, but I am worn out. I have to do laundry and clean the house etc. etc. etc. After all of my complaining I realize something; I need to toughen up. After all, I'm blessed.
Sure I may be tired, and I may have to do the laundry, dusting, vacuuming, dusting, sweeping. mopping, cooking etc. (I'm telling you...I'm Cinderella.) So, I take a break before I even start and turn on the news.....what do I see, Oklahoma City flood victims insurance is not covering the costs of their houses.
Got me to thinking; hey, it could always be worse. I try to stay positive but I do complain. I don't want to go to work, I don't want to clean, I don't want to cook. You know what though, I have a job, and food to cook, and a house to clean.
Okay, I tend to talk/blog about blessings a lot, so on to another subject; Potty Training. It's going well, Claire even went twice this morning! The chart seems to be working, but I've had a few people tell me to keep a jar of M&M's by the potty and let her have one every time she goes. So, I bought the jar today, and the M&M-mini's. Let's see if that works. I'll try to keep you all updated on my progress. Until next time, God bless.

They Say You can Never Come Back Home...

They lied. Christopher, Claire, my grandma and I all drove to Corpus Christi to go to my sisters wedding. What a trip it was. We had some good times, like stopping at the Czech Stop, and Claire starting to tell me that she had to potty...only if I asked, but you have to start somewhere. And some bad times, like when Claire peed through her diaper and her car seat soaked it up (...YUCK!) or when I forgot to get myself a t-shirt as a souvenir.
The wedding was kind of scary. I was the matron of honor. I DO NOT (repeat, DO NOT) like standing up in front of people. Unless I have lines to recite or something like that I'm a total wreck. I'm just glad that the attention wasn't on me.
I had a chance to get some girl time in. I got my nails done with my sister. It has been such a long time since I've had that done. I just wish that they had used a better polish. My nails were gummy for 3 hours, even after sitting under those nail drying lights.
The first full day that we were out there my nephews, dad, step-mom, grandma, and sister went to the aquarium. It was a lot of fun, I even got to pet a sting-ray. I just wish that I could've gotten Claire to touch it, but she was short that if I would've put her over the water where the sting ray was I would've ended up dropping her. But she LOVED the turtles and the under water dolphin tank.
That night Christopher and I went to the ocean to watch the waves under the full moon. It was so beautiful. I love that I can just sit in silence with my husband and feel totally safe and at ease with him. Everyone should be so lucky as to marry their best friend.
